Anläßlich des Heiligen Jahres 2000 wurde für den St. Pöltner Dom ein neues Bronzetor errichtet.
Geschaffen wurde das Portal von Prof. Jakob Kopp.
Der mittlere obere Teil des Portals zeigt die Verkündigung der Menschwerdung des Sohnes Gottes aus Maria. Links davon wird eine Darstellung des Heiligen Petrus und rechts eine von Papst Johannes Paul II. angeordnet.
Darunter, noch über den Torflügeln werden die Wappen der Stadt St. Pölten und des Bischofs, sowie das des Papstes und des Landes Niederösterreich abgebildet. Dazwischen die Inschrift "Et Incarnatus est Anno 2000 Sancto".
Darunter zeigen sechs Tafeln die Heiligen unserer Diözese: Leopold, Hippolyt, Koloman, Altmann, Florian und Severin.
Die Türklinken zeigen das Alpha und das Omega, Anfang und Ende.

On the occasion of the Holy Year 2000, a new bronze gate was erected for the St. Pölten cathedral.
The portal was created by Prof. Jakob Kopp.
The middle upper part of the portal shows the proclamation of the incarnation of the Son of God from Mary. To the left of this is a representation of Saint Peter and to the right one of Pope John Paul II.
Underneath it, the arms of the city of St. Pölten and of the bishop, as well as that of the pope and the province of Lower Austria are depicted. In between the inscription "Et Incarnatus est Anno 2000 Sancto".
Below them are six panels representing the saints of our diocese: Leopold, Hippolyt, Koloman, Altmann, Florian and Severin.
The door latches show the alpha and the omega, beginning and end.
