I recovered this California Division of Highways azimuth disk from 1968 in good condition. The NGS datasheet description refers to the EWE benchmark series for station recovery. The nearby metal witness sign made for easier recovery. The NGS posted coordinates are adequate for station recovery.

MARK 1968 AND SET IN A 2-FOOT BY 4-FOOT ROCK OUTCROP 6 INCHES ABOVE GROUND AND MARKED WITH A METAL POST AND SURVEY MONUMENT SIGN. TO REACH AZIMUTH MARK CONTINUE ON HIGHWAY 139 TO POST MILE 39.51. MARK IS 132 FEET WEST OF CENTER LINE OF HIGHWAY, 82 FEET WEST OF R/W FENCE, 34 FEET NORTH OF DOUBLE 8-INCH JUNIPER TREE AND 87.5 FEET WEST OF TELEPHONE POLE.
