I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1954 in good condition although the disk face has been hammered on by rocks, the disk stamping is still legible and the disk itself is still sound in its setting. This disk is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4203'. The NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery. My more accurate coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 3.1 MI NW FROM LOOKOUT. 3.1 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG A GRAVELED ROAD FROM THE POST OFFICE AT LOOKOUT, 0.2 MILE NORTHWEST OF A WIRE FENCE AND A CATTLE GUARD, IN THE TOP OF A 7- BY 7-FOOT BOULDER WHICH PROJECTS 1 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND, 120 1/2 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE ROAD, 18 1/2 FEET NORTHWEST OF A FORKED JUNIPER TREE, 2.9 FEET NORTHEAST OF A WITNESS POST, 1 1/2 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTH EDGE OF THE BOULDER, AND ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE ROAD.
