*NOTE* This benchmark is located on private property owned by a regional lumber company which has posted white placards on trees along this road authorizing public access. Also watch out for logging trucks which may frequent some of these roads. Be respectful of the land! A 4x4 vehicle with high clearance is required for certain sections of un-maintained roadways. Travel ONLY recommended during late spring and summer months due to muddy sections of roads during wet weather months.
I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1954 in good condition although the concrete monument has eroded on one side but the disk is still sound in its setting. This disk is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4239'. The original wooden witness post was found burned into pieces and lying nearby the disk. The NGS datasheet description is adequate for station recovery. My more accurate coordinates will place you very close to this mark.
