This former railway viaduct originally carried the Dearne Valley Railway to forma connection between the Hull & Barnsley Railway and those of the Great Northern and Great Eastern railways. The railway viaduct has 21 arches with a central girder section. These days it is no longer used as a railway viaduct, but forms part of the long distance footpath the TransPennine Trail. Originally this part of the trail only went alongside the viaduct at ground level on the west side of the river Don. Since 2010 an alternative route for the trail passes over the top of the viaduct. To see the graffiti it is necessary to use the lower trail.

The graffiti consists of some large letters and some art work. A woman is holding an apple whilst a serpent is draped around her neck. A second one at the top of the artwork is looking at them. There is also some smaller words with the phrase "...your religion ... their control".
Type of Surface: Bridge
