Der Georg-Freundorfer-Platz liegt im Münchner Stadtteil Westend. Mit seiner gründerzeitlichen Blockrandbebauung weist das Quartier die größte Bevölkerungsdichte der Stadt auf. Auf dem benachbarten ehemaligen Messegelände, der Theresienhöhe, entsteht weiterer Wohnungsbau. So kommt dem Georg-Freundorfer-Platz eine wichtige Funktion zu: als Treffpunkt der Anwohner, als Veranstaltungsort, als multifunktionale Fläche zum Spielen und Verweilen.
Hier finden Kinder einen tollen Abenteuerspielplatz und es finden oft Flohmärkte statt. Er ist beliebter Treffpunkt eines multikulturellen Quartiers und verbindet Generationen und Nationalitäten.
Der Georg-Freundorfer-Platz ist die zweitgrößte Grünfläche des Westends und wurde zum besten Spiel- und Freizeitplatz Deutschlands gewählt und 2006 mit dem Stiftungspreis der Stiftung „Lebendige Stadt" ausgezeichnet.

Georg-Freundorfer-Platz is located in the Westend district of Munich. With its foundational block-border development, the district has the largest population density in the city. On the neighboring former exhibition grounds, Theresienhöhe, further residential construction is being built. In this way the Georg-Freundorfer-Platz has an important function: as a meeting place for local residents, as a venue, as a multifunctional space for playing and lingering.
Here children find a great adventure playground and there are often flea markets. It is a popular meeting place for a multicultural district and combines generations and nationalities.
Georg-Freundorfer-Platz is the second largest green area in the Westend and has been voted the best playground in Germany. In 2006 it was awarded the Foundation Prize "Lebendige Stadt".
