The clock is designed by Hayao Miyazaki, with a 'glockenspiel' every few hours. It is Tokyo’s only Vaudeville-cuckoo clock–steampunk-Victorian curio cabinet time piece. The clock face is brown, with brown numbers on a white ring. The clock hands are brown. The clock is three stories high and 18 meters wide and consists of over 20 tonnes of copper and steel. It was completed in December 2006.
