This windmill, in the past, pumped water to a stock tank in an upper Sonoran desert bosque. The area was grazed from the late 1800's to the mid 1900's and this would have been a shaded and comfortable spot in an otherwise hostile desert environment. The tank is still in place and the windmill still swings in the breeze. The front vane of the windmill has disappeared and the rear vanes have been shot up by bored gunners. The rest of the mechanisms appear to be in place and waiting for the return of the owner to begin pumping water.
