Dort, wo in der Gallus-Anlage einst das Goethe-Denkmal stand, bevor es 2008 auf den Goethe-Platz zurückkehrte, steht heute die Skulptur "El Olimpo de Weimar" (Olymp von Weimar).
Kein Bildhauer hat Goethe so viele Arbeiten gewidmet wie der Spanier Andreu Alfaro Hernández (1929-2012). "El Olimpo de Weimar" ist die größte Skulptur, welche innerhalb eines zehnjährigen Werkzyklus von Alfaro zum Thema Goethe entstanden ist. Sie besteht aus gebogenen, fächerförmigen Edelstahlrohren, die im Zentrum einen Rhombus bilden, der sich als Kernfigur auch in anderen Werken Alfaros findet.

The sculpture "El Olimpo de Weimar" (The Olympus of Weimar) stands today in the Gallus-Anlage, where once stood the Goethe monument before returning to the Goethe Square in 2008.
No sculptor has devoted so much works to Goethe as Spaniard Andreu Alfaro Hernández (1929-2012). "El Olimpo de Weimar" is the largest sculpture that has been created within a ten-year work cycle by Alfaro on the subject of Goethe. It consists of curved, fan-shaped stainless steel pipes, which form a rhombus in the centre, which also finds itself as a core figure in other works of Alfaros.
