Rhein-Traumpfad Waldschluchtenweg wandern

Rhine-Traumpfad forest Schluchtenweg hiking
To hike the Waldschluchtenweg means idyllic bays to be able to enjoy unspoilt landscapes. On narrow lanes you can walk through the enchanted forests, past Roman relics.
The starting point of this circular route is the parking lot Feisternachtbachtal. The path crosses the L309 and the Hillscheider brook and leads above the stream through medium-high mixed forest past steep rock cliffs and the fish ponds of the Tannenhof. Once again the path crosses the L309. In serpentines it goes uphill and on the Hirzbach uphill. Through an old high forest it starts at a leisurely pace, later steeply upwards around the Kuckucksberg.
Soon we will pass the waterworks to the Bembermühle. The next ascent leads to the Limeswall, a relict from the Roman period, which has been listed on the UNESCO list since 2005 as a world cultural heritage. Even before the first houses of Hohr-Grenzhausen, the path circles almost almost parallel to the flank of the Puschenkopf and leads to the Saustallkopf. In wide serpentines, the path now descends into the Feisternachtbach valley, crosses the stream and leads down the left bank to a small lake with hut and back to the starting point.
