Row upon silent row of marble headstones bear witness to the men and women who answered the call of their country's service. Leavenworth National Cemetery (not to be confused with the National Cemetery at Fort Leavenworth) began as a burial place for those men who were residents of the Veterans' Hospital and now encompasses many acres of rolling hills of the Missouri River Valley.
