The Marble Hall within City Hall Cardiff features sculptures of eleven iconic Welsh Men & Women.

The high arched stained glass windows that light the room & sculptures, themselves feature the coat of arms of the person featured or the City of Cardiff.

In 1913 David Alfred Thomas (Viscount Rhondda), the coal magnate, offered to defray the entire cost of placing ten statues of eminent Welshmen in the then new City Hall at Cardiff.
