Leybourne Lakes Country Park which was opened in 2004, was created from disused gravel pits that have been flooded and landscaped to make fishing and wildlife lakes.
The park consistes of several lakes with footpath and cycle paths around them all. It is a lovely place to spend some time. As with all parks they have benches scattered around to sit on.
This one is dedicated to Sheila Cox.
The inscription on the plaque reads:
"In loving memory of
Sheila Cox
2.7.37 ~ 6.12.08
Who let us come over here everyday and play
Peter Cox and family"
