Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery was established in the 1930s by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 122 for veterans and their families. This cemetery is still owned and maintained by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 122 in Golden and it is still open to burials.
There are approximately 160 grave sites, most of which are unidentified and a white cross is placed there to mark the grave. It is most likely those individuals are known to be buried here, with the location uncertain.
There is a one know grave site of William Ross a Constable of the N.W.M.P. who froze to death near Golden. His remains were moved to this cemetery in 1955 from his original burial site on the hillside near the CPR oil storage tanks.
