This is Pier 3, the middle one of the five. All are very easy to see from the highway and all are within sight of each other. Mounted on the south side of this pillar, about a foot above ground, is a bolt, 99C041, looking much like a bronze spigot. We've seen one other like this, on a similar pillar at the Golden Airport.

Fort Steele
Concrete pillar (cbn pillar) with force centering plate along highway no. 93-95, 3.8 km southwest of junction with road to Fort Steele heritage park, 3.5 km northeast of junction with highway no. 3-93, 23.1 m northwest of centre line of highway, elevation taken on top at centre of main circular plate anchored on top of pillar. (side bolt 99c041 in southeast side of pillar, 0.8 m below top.) note: station is pier no.3 of the Cranbrook edm calibration baseline. Forced centering bolts for piers are in the custody of the regional district of east Kootenay, office on 24th avenue south, Cranbrook.
