A display of the six flags of countries who have exercised sovereignty over the State of Texas is located in the lobby of the Texas Memorial Museum on Trinity Street on board the University of Texas.

The flags are not in exact chronological order, but from left to right are as follows:

The Bourbon Kings of Spain (1519-1685; 1690-1821)
The Bourbon Kings of France (1685-1690)
The Republic of Mexico (1821-1836)
The United States of America (1845-1861; 1865-present)
The Confederate States of America (1861-1865)
The Republic of Texas (1836-1845)

Mams Blaster thinks that whoever replaced the flags when they were cleaned or replaced transposed the USA and Republic of Texas flags. Oops.
