Second Empire and Italianate style courthouse was completed in 1889. Sometime in the 1930s the tower was removed. In 2006 a restoration movement, under the Texas Historic Commission, restored the clock tower.

The tower has four clock faces. The faces are black, the hands and Roman Numerals are white.
