Diente zum Beschuß der Dampfschiffe durch Treidelschiffer (Rheinhalfen), deren Existenz durch die aufkommende Dampfschiffahrt bedroht war. Der Halfenaufstand wurde 1848 durch die Bonner Husaren niedergeschlagen.

It was used to fire the steamboats by the Rhine ship, whose existence was threatened by the coming steamship. In 1848, the revolt of the counts was downplayed by the Bonn hussars.
