In Boston's Back Bay neighborhood are these massive doors that were originally made for the Salada Tea Company.
The building is located on Stuart Street, near the intersection with Berkeley Street. The doors are on the southeast side of the road and are easily visible from it.
The doors are on the Salada Tea Building, and once was the company headquarters. The doors are bronze and framed by marble. According to the Boston Public Art web site, the doors were installed in 1927, and are 12 feet high. There are many forms on the doors, and 10 panels of scenes. Each scene shows a step in the process of preparing tea leaves. The marble framing includes female figures dressed in Asian clothing.
The sculptor was Henry Wilson. The frame was designed by Caesar Cairia, who was the assistant to Henry Wilson.
