The village of Canal Flats celebrated the 100th anniversary of British Columbia in 1958.

Near the corner of Dunn Street and Burns Avenue is a memorial cairn. It is pyramidal about 8 feet in height and made of natural stone.

It is very interesting that this year (2017) marks Canada 150th anniversary which translate that British Columbia was recognized as a territory by the crown in 1858, eight years before Canada became an official country.

Attached to the front side are four plaques:
