Built on the site of the original Anglican Church, Christ Church Trinity was dedicated on Sunday, March 28, 1999. The sod turning ceremony took place the year previous, on May 31, 1998. From its inception, this was a Shared Ministry church, these becoming more common each year in southern British Columbia.

In 1998 both the Anglican and United churches of Invermere were deconsecrated in preparation for the move to the new church, the Anglican church, Christ Church Invermere, on April 28, 1998 and Trinity United Church on January 25, 1998.

PIC Ostensibly, this church was given details which are reminiscent of the old churches, lending a sense of continuity to the parishioners. The bell tower is one which was designed to somewhat emulate the tower of the old Christ Church Anglican. See the photo to the side. It is actually a fairly good likeness. Unfortunately, the church doesn't mention whether the old bell was reinstalled in the new tower. Small stained glass windows from both of the old churches were, however, installed in the sanctuary. There are fourteen from the Anglican church in the chancel and five from Trinity United.
