The Oak Tree is located on Marbury Village Green opposite the Swan Inn on Wrenbury Road.
The plaque commemorates the centenary of Marbury Parish Council and is attached to metal railings that surround the tree.
Marbury is a small village located at in the civil parish of Marbury cum Quoisley, within the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire.
Marbury cum Quoisley is administered by the Marbury & District Parish Council, jointly with the adjacent civil parishes of Norbury and Wirswall. The joint parish council was formed in 1959, before which the civil parish was administered by Marbury Parish Council, formed in 1894.
From 1974 the civil parish was served by Crewe and Nantwich Borough Council, which was succeeded on 1 April 2009 by the new unitary authority of Cheshire East. (
