The main parts of the Brandýs na Labem waterwork (mechanical weir and lock separated from the weir by island), designed by architect Kamil Roškot, were constructed in 1931-1936. The hydroelectric power station was finished in 1944. The waterwork consists large single-boat waterlock chamber (85 m long, 12 m wide, with minimal depth over nipper 3.00 m), mechanical three-field (3×23.5 m) weir with Stoney-type flowgates, power station, fish ladder and artificial whitewater. The small hydroelectrictic station with two Francis turbines has power output 1980 kW.
