Like many rural villages, the withdrawal of a salaried Post Office following the retirement of the previous shop owners meant Alfrick lost these services for a couple of years. Not to be defeated, after a LOT of hard work and determination we are now the first volunteer enterprise in the Country to undertake the running of a ‘Post Office Local’ which performs nearly all of the tasks of an ordinary Post Office for a few hours each week day. Supported by our fabulous postman, Andy, this decision has proved popular with those who use its services. The previous post mistress, Sandie, now volunteers to assist the shop with the rather complicated systems!
