Calvin P. Titus (09/22/1879 - 05/27/1966) a Soldier in the US Army, was the last American standard-bearer. He received the Medal of Honor for his actions during the battle of Peking of the Boxer Rebellion.

Calvin Pearl Titus was the son of Cora Smith Titus of Vinton, IA. He moved to Oklahoma with his Father after his Mother died. Titus joined the US Army in May 1898, serving with the 1st Vermont Volunteer Infantry. He joined the 14th Infantry Regiment April 1899, serving in the Phillippeans and China. He was appointed to West Point as the result of his Medal of Honor, where President Teodore Roosevelt's presentation of his medal was the climax of a ceremony to celebrate the Academy's Centenial. He re-joined his Regiment as a 2nd Lt. He later served in the Mexican Expedition and with the US Occupation forces in Germany. He retired from the Army with the rank of Lt. Colonel in Oct. 1930.

CITATION: Gallant and daring conduct in the presence of his Colonel and other Officers and enlisted men of his Regiment; was the first to scale the wall of the City. For his couragous and daring deed in being the first to climb the wall, Trumpeter Titus was awarded the Congressonal Medal of Honor.
