CDAT 'CM 55' Control Monument - Modoc County, CA - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

I recovered this California Department of Transportation control monument in good condition. There is a nearby metal witness post that aids in recovery. The monument is a 2.5" aluminum disk monumented on top of low-lying lava rock projecting about 4 inches above the ground and about 25-30 feet southwest of Highway 139 and on top of a small lava rock outcrop embankment. This control monument does not exist in the NGS database. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.
