I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1940 in good condition, including the original wooden witness post. The concrete culvert mentioned in the datasheet description was destroyed after a road-widening project in the 1980s. This benchmark is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 4611'. The posted NGS coordinates are adequate for station recovery.

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 5.9 MI W FROM HACKAMORE. 2.2 MILES SOUTH ALONG A GRADED ROAD FROM THE WATER TOWER AT HACKAMORE, THENCE 3.7 MILES NORTHWEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 139, 42 FEET NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER LINE OF A DIM TRACK ROAD LEADING NORTHEAST, 313 1/2 FEET SOUTHEAST OF THE SOUTHEAST END OF THE NORTHEAST CONCRETE HEAD WALL FOR 18-INCH CORRUGATED METAL PIPE CULVERT A-999+47, 70 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTHWEST END OF A CUT BANK, 69 1/2 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER LINE OF THE HIGHWAY, 2.3 FEET SOUTHWEST OF A WITNESS POST, ABOUT 2 FEET LOWER THAN THE HIGHWAY, AND SET IN THE TOP OF A CONCRETE POST PROJECTING 1.0 FOOT ABOVE THE GROUND.
