I recovered this NGS vertical control mark from 1990 in good condition. A nearby metal witness post aided in a quick recovery because most other datasheet info was difficult to decipher. My more accurate coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY KERN COUNTY CALIFORNIA 1990 6.1 MILES (9.8 KM) SOUTHEAST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 139 FROM STRONGHOLD TO THE INTERSECTION WITH COUNTY ROAD 114, OLD ALTURAS HIGHWAY, THENCE 15.3 MILES (24.6 KM) SOUTHERLY ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 139, MARK IS 60 FEET (18.3 M) NORTHEASTERLY FROM CENTERLINE OF HIGHWAY AND 28 FEET (8.5 M) SOUTHWESTERLY FROM A FENCE, FROM THE MARK A 20-INCH DOUBLE PINE BEARS S 76 DEG E, 252 FEET, A 28-INCH JUNIPER WITH A RAILROAD SPIKE DRIVEN IN BASE ON NORTH SIDE BEARS S 34 DEG E, 91 FET, AND A TELEPHONE POLE NO. 1670 BEARS S 01 DEG W, 559 FEET.
