Built in 1896, described as Gothic by the newspaper of the day. Since modified to give it more of a Romanesque look. Site originally had a tailor shop, which was purchased for the Catholics of Barre. Most of the Catholics in the area were young Irish. First service held in 1856. In 1896 the fire at the Naquag Hotel spread to the church burning it so badly, it was torn down and rebuilt into the present day church.
