The vast majority of the LOST episodes was filmed at various locations around the state of Hawaii, and in most cases the island of Oahu itself: several of the outdoor scenes were actually filmed on the island's North Shore, including Mokule'ia Beach (for the original airplane crash in the TV show's pilot) and various outdoor areas around the Turtle Bay resort.
This waymark points out a famous cluster of banyan trees located at Kawela Bay's beach park (a public beach) just west of the Turtle Bay resort. The location was used as a backdrop for various LOST scenes, pretty much any scene in which the characters (or "survivors") are either walking through thick jungle on their way to some adventure or taking refuge within the arboreal ring of the trees.
While several LOST scenes were shot here, this particular waymark points out a particular scene in Episode 11 of Season 1 called "
All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues" in which "Charlie" (one of the characters) is hung up by “The Others” using the tree's many vines, but "Jack" (another character) manages to save Charlie's life at the last minute.
