The Golden Fire Department (today known as Golden Fire Rescue) was established in 1898, possibly after a major fire, though we've not found mention of one. Though the department has a web page on the town's web site, they make no mention of manpower or whether it is paid or volunteer. The page states that: "
Our volunteer firefighters receive payment for some of the services they provide but volunteer many hours to our community".
Following is a rundown of their apparatus complement, including the retired vehicles, from the
Fire Wiki. Now we're wondering how they manage to shoehorn all that equipment into their relatively small fire hall.
