The Golden Fire Department (today known as Golden Fire Rescue) was established in 1898, possibly after a major fire, though we've not found mention of one. Though the department has a web page on the town's web site, they make no mention of manpower or whether it is paid or volunteer. The page states that: "Our volunteer firefighters receive payment for some of the services they provide but volunteer many hours to our community".

Following is a rundown of their apparatus complement, including the retired vehicles, from the Fire Wiki. Now we're wondering how they manage to shoehorn all that equipment into their relatively small fire hall.

Active apparatus
Ladder 1 - 2009 Pierce Impel (1250/420/75' rearmount) (SN#21590)
Rescue 1 - 2006 Ford F350XL SD 4x4
