Marker Text:
Established one mile west of here in 1917 for the purpose of training cadets and enlisted men in the service of aviation. Strength: One hundred officers, nine hundred and thirty enlisted men and numbers of cadets, quartered in forty six buildings. The elementary and advanced training of its men contributed greatly to the development of the U.S. Army Air Service during and after the World War 1914 - 1918. To its memory, to the memory of those thirty-four men killed in training, and to the memory of their efforts to help preserve the peace and safeguard the welfare of mankind this memorial is solemnly dedicated.
