Private dwelling built in 1840, originally may have been a boarding house for the students at the old Barre Academy. When the school folded the building was converted to a residence for Harding Woods, son of Harding P Woods, early settler in Barre. Originally Colonial in design, but altered in 1900 with the mansard roof.
