"A figure of a Confederate soldier standing at parade rest. He wears a uniform which includes a brimmed hat and holds the barrel of his rifle in both hands. The butt of the rifle rests on the plinth at his feet. His proper left leg is bent and his foot rests on a field pack which protrudes beyond the edge of the plinth. The soldier looks to the northeast and stands atop a tall carved shaft. Each side of the base is devoted to one of four states. The front side, to Arkansas, has a relief of a furled flag surrounding a metal relief of the CSA seal. Beneath the flag is a metal wreath. The North side, Missouri, has metal drum and trumpet. The West side, Texas, has crossed rifle in metal. The south side, Louisiana, has a metal sword.
