Am 9. März 1945, um 7.30 Uhr, sprengten deutsche Pioniere die Kronprinz-Wilhelm-Brücke.
Bei der Brückensprengung wurden zahlreiche deutsche Soldaten, die sich auf dem Rückzug zur rechten Rheinseite noch auf der Brücke befanden, brutal in den Tod gerissen.

On March 9, 1945, at 7:30 am, German pioneers exploded the Crown Prince Wilhelm Bridge.
Many German soldiers, who were still on the bridge on their way to the right side of the Rhine, were brutally torn to death during the brigade bombardment.
