This artillery display of a 105 mm howitzer is nicknamed "BIG BOB" and was erected as a memorial to the founder of this VFW post.

The VFW 5651 Memorial Garden Park, is a small park on the eastern side of the post grounds, which has dedicated bricks, a brick path, a Blue * Star Memorial, a couple benches, and this artillery display.....and, oh yes, a garden.
Strange I can find no history of this man, he also has a street named for him in the town of New Melle
