Located near the intersection of Hwys. 25 & 22, this brick and stucco school was built in 1927.

It is in Alango Township, a name meaning lowland in the Finnish language. The school operated into the late 1970’s, and the building represents a cultural landmark of rural Cook. It has recently been restored and turned into a bed and breakfast. The Italian Renaissance style building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
