Journalist and author, Stephen kinder, wrote a book about John Foster Dulles and his brother Allen Dulles. He tells us that this bust was first unveiled at the opening of the Dulles International Airport in 1962. The ceremony was attended by Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Allen Dulles, John's older brother. Some time later it was located in a closed conference room, before being returned to public display again.

A Youtube video shows the dignitaries at the airport opening.

The bust was done by artist Boris Lovet-Lorski.
