In May 1991, the first discussion of the project to build a monument dedicated to veterans took place at the regular meeting of the Saint-Quentin municipal council. And, with the help of the Royal Canadian Legion, a subsidiary of Saint-Quentin, a monument was born. Several submissions and models were presented to the Board. However, it was retained by Mr. André Valcourt of the Saint-Quentin region, which had a monument of the highest quality, polished on five surfaces and about nine feet high. Following the acceptance of the plans, the monument was built in September 1991. The inscription reads: "Homage to our veterans - their memories will live."
