"The theater of the small form is a place for personal encounters and intercultural exchange." The Theater of the Small Form is a place for personal encounters and intercultural exchange Gaststätte Igel and in the bookstore Montanus in the charming ambiance of a listed patrician house of the Bonn city center a variant of the intimate single-room theater developed from the Kammerspiel.
"For 32 years, the house founded by Claus Marteau makes a lot of theater with little money. The productions of Patrick Süskind's "Kontrabaß" and Sartre's "Geschlossen Gesellschaft" ("Closed Society") have been legendary for 30 years. At most 50 spectators can wonder about what can be done on a 38 square meter stage. The mobile podiatry makes it possible: Whether along the street, whether crosswise or peephole, the audience feels in the middle of dramatic events. "(General-Anzeiger)
"It certainly belongs to the oldest operated theaters in our country. The term "free scene" had not yet been coined, since there were a few theater idealists, who presented themselves on their own to present their form of theater. Only two of them, Helmut Gahmann in Essen and Gisela Pflugradt-Marteau, survived with their theater. [...] In early years, contacts and dialogue with international artists began. The 'Eurotheater Central Bonn' has its origin here. Tolerance and cultural exchange are the hallmarks of this small but immensely creative theater. "(Pure theater)"
