Two brothers who died young are buried at this stone. Forrest only 19 years old and John only 24.
It is JOhn we are looking at. The logo is a pine tree, with a fire axe and fire awl cross inset with the letters WMA.
WMA is an old organization called Wildland Management Association, with today has been replaced by a whole slew of state and local organizations. The primary effort is the prevention and fighting of widland fires.
Today Smokey the Bear and many forest fire organizations handle the job.
The tombstone Text: [Sea pine tree with crossed axes and WMA inset] JOHN K.
JONES
Born Feb. 7, 1887
Died Sept. 4, 1911
On that bright immortal shore
We shall meet to part no more
With the early death of John I assumed he died in a fire, but I could not find and comfirmation to his death under any cause.
