Skulptur af Kai Nielsen. Billedhugger og maler, 1882-1924, født i Gerritsgade 9 i Svendborg. I malerlære hos Johannes Voss i Svendborg, fra 1901 tilknyttet Københavns Kunstakademis billedhuggerskole.
Skulptur i bronze, nøgen kvinde, der holder et lille barn i sine fremstrakte hænder, opsat på sokkel af tilhugget granit. En anden udgave står på Enghave Plads i København. Inskription på soklen: ”Kai Nielsen Venus med æblet Skænket af borgere i Svendborg i anledning af købstadens 700 års jubilæum 1953”.

Sculpture by Kai Nielsen. Sculptor and painter, 1882-1924, born in Gerritsgade 9 in Svendborg. In painting at Johannes Voss in Svendborg, dating from 1901 at the Copenhagen Academy of Fine Arts, sculpture school.
Sculpture in bronze, naked woman, holding a little child in her protruding hands, set on the shelf of chopped granite. Another edition is at Enghave Plads in Copenhagen. Inscription on the socket: "Kai Nielsen Venus with the apple Donated by citizens in Svendborg on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the town of 1953".
The sculpture was given to the city by its citizens by the 700th anniversary of Svendborg city. Students dance annually around Venus with the apple.
