The memorial was dedicated on September 11, 2011, exactly ten years after the 9/11 disaster, in memory of the firefighters who lost their lives during the 911 terrorist attacks. The memorial was created and dedicated by the members of the Revelstoke Fire Department.

The memorial is a miniature of the Bell Tower on the Revelstoke Firefighters Museum, which we believe to be a replica of the bell tower on the old, now gone, Revelstoke Fire Hall.

All steel, including the steel roof sheathing, the memorial even replicates the bell on the original tower with a small chromed steel bell. The memorial stands bolted to a low square concrete plinth.
