The old granary ruins are located in Little Bluff Conservation Area. Access is by trail from Prince Edward CR 13. Be wary of the trails as they do skirt the 10M bluffs along the bay. Stay inland from the railings until you follow the trail down to the ruins. The marker is on the water side.

Conversely, the marker is accessible by watercraft. Be careful of shoreline rocks and debris.

The marker, put up by the Quinte Conservation Authority on top of an earlier crude plywood marker (still visible), recounts the history of this little-known granary.

Marker text reads:

THE GRANARY

From 1860 to 1890, Prince Edward County
enjoyed a very intense period known as
the "Barley Days". Farmers grew barley
and shipped it to the United States for
the brewing of beer.
This foundation is all that remains of a
grain storage building where schooners
pulled in and loaded up the barley for
shipment to Oswego, NY.
Although there are several locations
where the remains of shipping wharves
can be seen in the county, this is the
only granary foundation that still exists
in the county.
Group that erected the marker: Quinte Conservation Authority

Address of where the marker is located. Approximate if necessary:
