This museum is located in the town of Tillsonburg, Ontario on Tilson Avenue and is a Canadian National Historic Site and Museum. The Annandale House was built by Edwin Delevan Tillson who was the first mayor of Tillsonburg and son of George Tillson, founder of Tillsonburg.
The house was part of the Aesthetic Movement in the Victoria era, built in 1883, the building was inspired by poet Oscar Wilde who gave a lecture in Woodstock, Ontario which Mary Ann Tillson attended.
The museum was created by a by-law in 1973 and in the 1980s was moved into the Annandale House. The museum holds many exhibits and a catalog of over 18,000 items, ranging from Grasshopper Ointment to Hockey Jerseys.
Throughout the year the museum hosts a variety of workshops and lectures including painting nights, soapstone carving, and also summer camps for children. In 2017 the museum was a finalist for the Ontario's Choice Awards in Top Small Museum/Art Gallery/Historic Site.
