Church of St. Lawrence (Kostel Sv. Vavrince), Baroque structure with Romanesque-Gothic core built before 1344, is not only landmark of village Cirkvice at Kutna Hora, but also filial church of Roman Catholic parish Kutna Hora-Sedlec.
Church of St. Lawrence was erected probably in the beginning of the 13th century, but the first written record is from 1344. From the 15th it served to Protestants, but after their defeat in Battle at White Mountain (1621) and inderdict of Protestant confession in 1627 it was several without priest and 8 years it was used as stables. Eventually, church was reconsecrated in 1655 and subsequently radically rebuilt in Baroque spirit in 1684. The nave was demolished and the new one with two rectangular high side chapels was constructed (so, church has a cross ground plan), only presbytery and massive prismatic tower remained from its original medieval Romanesque-Gothic structure. Furniture is also Baroque, in majority from the 17th and 18th century, with exception of valuable Gothic altar Pieta painting by the Master of Trebon Altar (ca 1380). Originally parish church, St. Lawrence is currently only filial church administered by RC parish in Kutna Hora-Sedlec.
