Der Schlossturm steht am Burgplatz in Düsseldorf und wird als Schifffahrtsmuseum genutzt.
Der Schlossturm bildete ursprünglich den nördlichen Abschluss des Düsseldorfer Schlosses. Die ersten drei Geschosse des Turms stammen noch aus dem 13. Jahrhundert. Alessandro Pasqualini setzte 1552 auf den Turm ein viertes, polygonales Geschoss hinzu, das mit toskanischen Säulen geschmückt wurde. Die Idee eines fünften Geschosses stammt von König Friedrich Wilhelm IV., sein Hofarchitekt Friedrich August Stüler setzte sie 1845 entwurflich im sogenannten Rundbogenstil um.[1] 1883 wurde von Eberhard Westhofen ein neues Portal am Turm angebracht. Ferner wurden die Rundbögen im fünften Geschoss verglast. 1909 wurde beim Bau eines Zeltdaches die Maßwerkattika entfernt. Das heutige Zeltdach stammt von 1950.[2] Seit 1984 ist im Turm das Schifffahrtsmuseum beheimatet. 2001 erhielt der Turm eine neue Innenarchitektur. Insgesamt beträgt die Höhe des Schlossturms 33 Meter.

The castle tower originally formed the northern end of the Düsseldorf castle. The first three storeys of the tower date back to the 13th century. In 1552, Alessandro Pasqualini added a fourth, polygonal floor, adorned with Tuscan columns. The idea of a fifth storey comes from King Frederick William IV. His court architect Friedrich August Stüler changed it in the so-called round arch style in 1845. [1] In 1883 Eberhard Westhofen installed a new portal on the tower. Furthermore, the round arches were glazed on the fifth floor. In 1909, during the construction of a tent roof, the trimmings were removed. The present tent roof dates back to 1950. [2] Since 1984 the ship's museum is located in the tower. In 2001, the tower received a new interior architecture. The total height of the castle tower is 33 meters.
