St. Anne's Church was completed in 1864 and is one of the oldest log churches in continuous use in western Canada. This cairn with attached plaque located near the front entrance honours Jean Baptiste Babue, an early member of the congregation.
The plaque reads:

In grateful memory of
Jean Baptiste Babue
1848 - 1923
Faithful to the Church
Christian - Churchman - Laborer
Worked for the Church and God.
