ENGLISH:

The church was built on the foundation walls of the former villagechurch of Rixdorf, which completely burned down and destroyed in 1693. Both the floor plan and a few remaining walls were preserved, so the church retained its late Gothic substance.

In 1757, the walls of the church were raised, the church got a burying tower and acquired a Baroque appearance. Until 1879 the village church was the main church of the evangelical church community Rixdorf. Due to the increasing number of members in the municipality, the newly built Magdalen Church became the new preacher's center.

In 1884 the die Böhmisch-Lutherische Bethlehemsgemeinde acquired the church. During further conversions from 1885 to 1887, the church got the western vestibule and the eastern framework sacristy. The last conversions took place between 1939 and 1941, with the porch widened and the roof converted.
