This large howitzer is from the German side of World War I. It sits at the Harrison County Courthouse in Corydon, IN near Capitol Ave.
According to the sign, the howitzer was made in Essen, Germany in 1917. It could fire a 93 pound 5 1/2 miles. This actual piece was captured by the American forced on the western front in 1918.
